If you're not a fan of the great Jack White already, maybe this will finally bring you into the fold. If it doesn't, we're afraid there's no hope for you.
White, who's had three successful bands (The White Stripes, The Raconteurs, The Dead Weather) and a solo career, has just saved one of Detroit's most historic buildings - The Masonic Temple.
The Temple was in danger of going into foreclosure, when White stepped up and paid its $142,000 outstanding tax bill.
The donation was originally made anonymously, but the president of the Detroit Masonic Temple Association revealed that the money came from White.
"Jack's donation could not have come at a better time and we are eternally grateful to him for it," Roger Sobran told the Detroit Free Press.
"Jack's magnanimous generosity and unflinching loyalty to this historic building and his Detroit roots is appreciated beyond words."
Detroit's Historic Masonic Temple
The Temple is listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. It was completed in 1926 and is the largest Masonic building in the world, taking up an entire city block.
It's 14 storeys high and has more than 1000 rooms including three auditoriums, two ballrooms, seven lodge rooms, bowling lanes, a barber's shop and a concert hall.
White has performed there nine times, including two solo gigs last year. He also used to go there when he was younger, when his mother worked as an usher at one of the Temple's theatres.
The Rolling Stones, The Who, Jimi Hendrix, Frank Zappa and the MC5 have all played there as well.
As a sign of appreciation, Sobran said the Temple's 1,586-seat Cathedral theatre will now be named The Jack White Theater.
"We could not be more humbled to bestow this honor upon Jack," said Sobran.
White was born and raised in Detroit, and now lives in Nashville. In his career, he has collaborated with the likes of The Stones, Bob Dylan and Alicia Keys.
If you want to make a donation to the temple, go to the Detroit Masonic Temple websiteand click on the 'Support the Temple' tab on the left side of the home page.
And just because we're such big fans, here's the first single 'Love Interruption' off White's solo album 'Blunderbuss'.
