Brooke “Viosocalist” Alford’s sweet violin riffs join with Rashanna Harmon’s lovely stream of consciousness vocals on “Reason to Live,” a song of encouragement that promises “there’s still hope for you.” It is an ideal backdrop for praise dancers and mime ministries.
The track and its more lyrical counterpart appeared originally on a 2011 various artists compilation supporting the YWCA’s Rise Up Against Domestic Violence campaign (Best Kept Secrets Entertainment, LLC). Since its release, Alford has performed the piece at churches and other venues. It is on her second CD, The Viosocalist, released officially as I write this.
